What is a Neck Lift?
The purpose of neck contouring surgery, also commonly called a neck lift, is to produce a more youthful neck appearance with a tighter and more pleasing contour. Our neck lift in Denver surgery is sometimes done in conjunction with a face lift or other facial procedure and sometimes performed on its own.
How Is a Neck Lift Performed?
The operation is usually done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia. It requires an incision under the skin. Fat is then suctioned or excised, muscles are tightened, and a small amount of skin may be removed. Our Denver neck lift patients go home with the chin and neck wrapped in dressings or in an elastic neck sling.
What Is Recovery Like After a Neck Lift Procedure?
Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Swelling and bruising disappear in about two weeks. The final result is visible in one to three months. Depending on other procedures performed in conjunction with a neck lift, you can often return to light-duty work in one to two weeks.
