Available Treatment Options
We are pleased to offer both platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, and growth factor serum as options to enhance your microneedling sessions. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a growth-factor-rich substance derived from your own blood that stimulates the growth of new cells and increases collagen production and blood circulation. Microneedling performed with PRP is widely known as the Vampire Facial®. Growth factor serum, on the other hand, creates optimal conditions for healing and cell regeneration while reducing inflammation. During your skincare consultation, our Denver Body Doc Aesthetics provider will recommend the best option to address your unique concerns and achieve the best possible results.
How is the Procedure Done?
Microneedling—also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), micropen, or automated microneedling—utilizes a motorized pen with 12 tiny micro-needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This process triggers new collagen and elastin production, resulting in smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin. There are several different brands of microneedling systems. We utilize the Eclipse MicroPen EVO™ at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center.
During your treatment, our Denver Body Doc Aesthetics provider will attach a sterile cartridge containing the 12 tiny micro-needles to the applicator pen. A thin layer of numbing agent is applied to the skin initially for your comfort. Next, a topical gel is applied to the skin, and customized settings are selected to meet each patient’s unique needs. The micropen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered. The total treatment time is typically 30-45 minutes.

When Will I Notice Results?
Many patients notice an immediate glow to their skin and continue to see visible changes over the next 6-8 weeks. Results can keep improving for up to six months following treatment as collagen production continues.
