I began competing 4 years ago in the Figure division. I fell in love right away with transformation process of building muscle and then leaning it out. I have always been active and was a gymnast for many years so this just seemed like a natural progression for me. I started out competing in NPC Colorado competitions and placed in the top 3 several times. I am nationally qualified and in 2012, I competed in Chicago, IL which was a Jr. National show. I placed 10th (which was a major accomplishment for me) but I knew that if I wanted to keep competing, I needed to add a little more muscle. So I took a year to train a few muscle groups and I also decided to explore the option of breast augmentation. I have 2 children Nolan (10) and Avrie (8). The combination of nursing and dieting for competitions took a toll on my breasts. I met with Dr. Slenkovich and his team and decided that this was something I wanted to pursue. I discovered that I had lost a little of my confidence and femininity by having small breasts so this was something I wanted to give back to myself. I had surgery a little over a year ago and I am extremely happy with the results. Dr. Slenkovich took the time to make sure I chose a size that was perfect for my physique and lifestyle. I gave myself time to heal and began training again. In March of 2014, I stepped back on the stage at a competition in Ohio and took first place in my height category and age category. My plan for this summer is to compete in Pittsburgh this July in a Masters Nationals show and possibly switch over to the Fitness division in August. My journey has been short but I feel like I have many miles to go.
